Parish Announcements
We would like to welcome the Very Rev. Father John Berg, who will be with us for the duration of the Sacred Triduum and will be assisting at the solemn ceremonies. Father Berg is the Superior General of the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Peter and will arrive mid-week.
A special word of thanks to all the generous and hard-working volunteers who helped cleaned the church yesterday in preparation for Holy Week. May God reward you!
Please take note of the following schedule for the proper Mass times and confessions during the Triduum:
Maundy Thursday: Confessions 6:30 pm-7:45 pm; Solemn Mass of the Lord’s Supper 8 pm
Good Friday: Confessions 12:30 pm -2 pm; Good Friday Liturgy 3 pm; Stations of the Cross 7 pm
Holy Saturday: Confessions 1 pm-2 pm and 8 pm -9 pm; Vigil and Easter Mass 10:30 pm
Easter Sunday: Low Mass 9 am and High Mass 11:30 am
It is kindly asked that the faithful please avail themselves of the extra opportunities that will be provided for Confession. As there are many preparations to be made throughout the week the priests will be limited to those times which are posted.
The Knights of Columbus will host a Fish dinner after the Good Friday Liturgy. Prices will be as following: Adults $6, Children $4, Family $30. The Knights will be selling tickets after the Masses in the parish hall. They will also be available in the bookstore. Please come and support the Knights.
For those members of the faithful who will be assisting at the Easter Vigil it is recommended to bring a small flashlight as the church lights will be off for the first part of the Vigil. The flashlight is particularly recommended to those persons who would like to follow the reading of the prophecies in their hand missals.
The annual Saint Francis de Sales Easter Egg Hunt will take place after the 9 am Mass on Easter Sunday for ages 12 and under. If you would like to donate stuffed eggs, place them in the box in the parish hall under the “lost and
found” table.
On Easter Sunday, there will be an opportunity to have Easter baskets blessed following both Masses. Those who are interested are asked to place their baskets near the altar of St. Joseph.
If there is anyone interested in being added to the list to make a meal for the sick within our parish or for our expectant mothers this would be greatly appreciated. The parish has a special group dedicated to this apostolate called St. Gerard’s club. If interested, please contact Mrs. Melanie Reid at (770) 445-9941 or jomer19@yahoo.com
